Week 12 Predictions for the Mountain West Conference

Welcome to the week of the upset. This is the week that the wheels can come off many of the teams coming down the stretch. Most of all the circumstances are due to off the field issues that have been energizing teams, and setting them up for let downs. Last week I was a perfect 5-0 and look to continue the winning streak. Plus, there might be a surprise guest... to the picks.

Last Week 5-0
Overall 19-3
This Week:

Georgia Southern (7-3, 4-3) at Colorado St. (1-9, 1-6) Saturady 12pm No TV (makes sense)
Finally, the D-1AA team that CSU is going to crush. They are going to get their second win in dominating fashion...NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND! Oh, it is Lee Corso. YES! AND I AM HERE TO TELL CSU AW OH! LOOK OUT FOR THE YOUNG GEORGIA SOUTHERN TEAM TO GIVE THE RAMS ALL THEY CAN HANDLE! THIS WILL BE A FOUR QUARTER GAME. I am actually going to listen to Lee, but CSU will get it done at home. It will be a lot closer then what the Rams will want.
Colorado St. 31 - Georgia Southern 24
BYU (7-2, 5-0) at Wyoming (5-5, 2-4) Saturday 12pm The Mtn. (Which is the same as no TV)
What an odd week for the pokes. Joe Glenn not knowing of this amazing thing called the Internet guarantees a victory against the Utes, at Utah. Then after getting slapped around on the road down 43-0 and reacting to an onside kick gives Ute coach Kyle Whittingham the Wyoming state greeting. All of this has over shadowed the fact that BYU the most hated of all rivals the Pokes have are coming into Laramie this weekend. Look for BYU to continue the dominance...NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND! HAVING BEEN IN THE COACHING RANKS I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO GET PUNCHED IN THE MOUTH ON THE ROAD A TIME OR TWO. YOU ARE HUNGRY AND LOOKING FOR REVENGE, PLUS THIS IS THE LAST HOME GAME FOR POKES OF THE SEASON. LOOK FOR A ENERGIZED COWBOYS TEAM TO TAKE IT TO BYU. Although Lee makes good points I just looked at the forecast on weather.com it is 54 degrees and partly cloudy. Unless the weather plays a huge factor in the game, I don't see the Cowboys having enough firepower to get by the Cougs. Also, I just don't see BYU looking past this opponent and they will continue their Conference dominance.
BYU 35 - Wyoming 24
San Diego St. (4-5, 3-2) at Air Force (8-3, 5-2) Saturday 12 pm No TV (why?)
I WILL TELL YOU WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THIS GAME. AIR FORCE WILL DOMINATE! THIS TEAM TOOK NOTRE DAME OUT AND DESTROYED THEM, AND THEY WILL CONTINUE TO ROLL....Not so fast my friend! This Lee, is my upset special. San Diego St has the perfect situation for a big upset. Air Force is riding high after a win over ND, and are looking past the lowly Aztecs. The Aztecs have everything in the world to play for in this game. They are 4-5 with three game to go, and need two wins to become bowl eligible. They have a off the field cause, the California wild fires, that is motivating them. Look for the Aztecs to bite another team and sneak out a victory, on the road.
San Diego St. 31- Air Force 28
New Mexico (7-3, 4-2) at Utah (7-3, 4-2) Saturday 3:30pm The Mtn.
The Utes are rolling, and they laid down the hammer against the Lobos. Although the majority of the week has been devoted to talk of a stupid onside kick call...STUPID, MORONIC! EVERY MEMBER OF THE UTAH COACHING STAFF SHOULD BE ASHAMED. THAT WAS A TERRIBLE DISPLAY OF CLASS BY THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH... Yes, even with that in mind Utah will overcome and focus beating...NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND! THIS IS THE SCENARIO WERE THE UTES WILL FALL. HISTORICALLY, NEW MEXICO AND ROCKY LONG HAVE HAD THE UTES NUMBER WITH THEM WINNING 5 OUT OF THE LAST 7 MEETINGS BETWEEN THE SCHOOLS. ALSO, HISTORICALLY THE UTES CAN'T CARRY MOMENTUM AFTER BIG WINS, LOOK AT THE UNLV LOSS AFTER THE WIN AGAINST UCLA. LOBOS WIN ON THE ROAD.
New Mexico 24 - Utah 17 (I am going with "the coach" on this one)
UNLV (2-8, 1-5) at TCU (5-5, 2-4) Saturday 5:30pm (There will be TV, but as of now it is TBA)
TCU coach Gary Patterson continues his streak of blaming everything, but himself, for the poor performance of his squad. Lucky for the Horn Frogs they get a dead in the water opponent like the Rebels to insure they get their sixth win and become bowl eligible...OVERRATED!!! YET, GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN THIS ONE. TCU BY DOUBLE DIGITS...I agree.
TCU 21 - UNLV 10
