The Wife's Outburst: My Wonderlic Test

So on Sunday, I took the Wonderlic and scored a 22. That is what most Tight Ends and Bank Tellers score. Hm...Maybe I chose the wrong profession. I thought I would do pretty well. Once I started taking it the questions were pretty easy. There were lots of word/language questions. I am pretty good at that. But then I realized that it is a lot of logic and I don't do so well with those type of questions.

So I gave this to some of my 8th grade students. It was interesting to see their scores. I had a few kids score in the upper 20's and one kid got a 31 in my 1st period. That doesn't look too good when your students are smarter than you.

How could a quarterback make it through college and the NFL not having a lot of logic? Vince Young scored like a 6 on this test and he is doing okay in the NFL. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Why do they even have the guys take this? What is the point? To see how they can make a quick decision? I don't know. A lot of them sure don't use it in their life off the field. Look at how many of them get into trouble with the law. Do they think that because they are professional athletes who get paid millions of dollars they are above the law? The young kids see that and begin to think if they are cool and a good athlete they are above the law and the rules don't apply to them. And these are their role models....not very good ones!
